Graciela Cassel, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a multidisciplinary artist living in New York City. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master’s in Education from Yeshiva University, a Master of Arts in Studio Art from New York University, and a Master of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts.

Cassel’s works are in the collections of Citibank NY, NewSeguros (Brazil) Museo del Grabado (Buenos Aires) Shunck Collection, (Nederland) Lilac Museum (New York) Blue Brothers Collection, (New York) Her work is also in private collections in Argentina, Colombia and Brazil.

Cassel has received numerous accolades, including the 2022 NYFA Work Award, the Altamira Museum Fellowship, and fellowships with organizations like the Queens Botanical Garden and Anklave. She was also awarded a New York Historical Society fellowship in 2020 and was a Queens Council Grantee in 2016 and 2020. She participated in residencies at Residency Unlimited in 2016 and the Lower Manhattan Council for the Arts in 2024.

Cassel's work has been exhibited in various venues, including the Museo de la Naturaleza in Cantabria, Spain, in 2023 and Brooklyn's Urban Glass Gallery in 2020. It was also showcased at Museo del Barrio in 2016 and at Weather the Weather, Hall of Science in New York in 2019. She held solo exhibitions at NYLAAT Governors Island in 2023 and the Lilac Museum Ship in 2022. Her work was featured in prominent events like Nuit Blanche Paris in 2023 and the Venice Biennial in 2024.

Cassel is the founder and director of Transborder Art, which has already released 55 episodes. The mission of Transborder Art, founded in 2014, is to bring art conversations to the general public. The concept behind this TV broadcast is to provide access to contemporary artists and their discussions on interesting topics, creating an archive of contemporary art through these conversations.
